| What | Why we use it | Lawful basis |

| Details you send through the contact form or by email | To reply to your enquiry or quote request | Legitimate interests (answering enquiries) |
| Email address when you sign up to our newsletter | To send you news and offers | Consent. Existing customers may receive similar product news on a soft opt-in basis, and can opt out at any time |

We do not collect more than we need, and we do not sell your personal information. You do not have to give us your personal information, but we cannot process an order or open an account without the details we ask for. We do not make decisions about you using automated decision-making or profiling that has a legal or similarly significant effect.
Only with organisations that help us run the business: payment providers, couriers and delivery partners, our website hosting and support providers, our email and newsletter provider, Google (analytics only, see below), and Adobe (website fonts, see below). We may also share information where the law requires it. Google and Adobe may handle data outside the UK, including in the USA. Where any provider does, we make sure the safeguards required by UK law are in place.
Order and invoice records are kept for six years for tax and accounting. Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to deal with them and a reasonable period afterwards. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. Account details are kept until you close your account, after which we delete them, apart from order and invoice records we must keep by law. Analytics data is kept for 14 months.
Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. We use two types. When you first visit our website a banner asks you to accept cookies. Strictly necessary cookies work without it. Statistics cookies are only set if you accept. Our analytics tag does not load at all until you accept, so no analytics cookies are set before then.
| Type | Examples | What they do | Consent |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | PHPSESSID, form_key, mage-cache-sessid, mage-cache-storage, private_content_version, section_data_ids, user_allowed_save_cookie, last_visited_store | Keep your basket, login and security working | Not needed |
| Statistics (Google Analytics 4 via Google Tag Manager) | _ga, _ga_[ID], STUID, STVID | Count visits and show which pages are used so we can improve the site. We do not use this data for advertising or share it with Google for its own purposes | Only set if you accept the cookie banner. You can change your mind at any time |
Google Tag Manager loads our analytics tag but does not itself set advertising cookies. We do not use advertising, remarketing or social media tracking cookies. If that changes we will ask for your consent first and update this page.
The STUID and STVID cookies come from the search and product analytics tool on our shop. They are used only to measure how visitors use the site so we can improve it. Our website fonts are loaded from Adobe Fonts (use.typekit.net), so your IP address is sent to Adobe when a page loads.
How to object to analytics cookies: You can install Google’s free browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, or email us at [email protected] and we will help. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may stop working if you block the necessary ones.
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, and ask for it in a portable format. To use any of these, email [email protected]. We aim to reply within one month. Where we rely on your consent, for example for the newsletter, you can withdraw it at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email or by emailing us. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did before.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
We may update this policy. The date of the latest version is shown at the top of this page.
